Nintendo fans have plenty to be excited about. The June 2026 Nintendo Direct delivered over 40 game announcements, filling out the rest of the year’s release calendar for the Nintendo Switch 2 . From long-awaited remakes and brand-new entries in beloved franchises to massive third-party ports, here are the upcoming Nintendo games everyone is talking about.

The Heavy Hitters: Most Anticipated First-Party Games

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remake – 2026

The rumours were true. Nintendo closed its June Direct with the stunning reveal of a remake of what is widely considered one of the greatest games ever made . The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is being reborn on Nintendo Switch 2 in 2026, featuring updated 3D animation that brings the classic story to life in a new way . As the Zelda franchise celebrates its 40th anniversary, this remake is poised to be Nintendo’s biggest release of the year .

Xenoblade Genesis – 2027

Monolith Soft is back with a brand-new entry in the Xenoblade series, marking the first new title in about five years since Xenoblade Chronicles 3 . Xenoblade Genesis is described as a “new beginning” for the series, shifting away from its sci-fi roots to focus on a fantasy-themed academy setting . The game is set in the world of Anshar, which has six suns, and follows a protagonist attending the Lycos Knight Academy who wields a mysterious Anima Crystal . It is a Switch 2 exclusive launching in 2027 . Alongside this new title, Nintendo also announced Switch 2 Editions of all three main Xenoblade games, with enhanced 4K/60fps performance and new features .

Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave – September 17, 2026

The next entry in Nintendo’s tactical RPG franchise arrives exclusively on Switch 2 . Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave centers on the Heroic Games, a massive competition where four protagonists with different backgrounds compete for a wish granted by the Divine Sovereign . The game promises to blend deep storytelling with strategic battles, continuing the franchise’s evolution toward richer narrative experiences and player choice .

Pokémon Pokopia – Free Update and Paid DLC

The charming town builder Pokémon Pokopia continues to expand. A free underwater update arrives in August 2026, allowing players to dive beneath the sea and create new habitats . Additionally, a paid Expansion Pass is on the way, split into three parts: the first adds a new town called Bubbly Basin in August, with more features and a new town arriving later in 2026 and 2027 .

Nintendo Switch Sports Resort – October 22, 2026

The spiritual successor to Wii Sports Resort arrives on Switch 2 . Nintendo Switch Sports Resort features 12 motion-controlled sports, including boxing, tennis, bowling, golf, skateboarding, archery, and the delightfully quirky thumb wrestling . The game returns to Wuhu Island as the central hub, supporting local multiplayer for up to four players .

Major Third-Party Ports Coming to Switch 2

One of the biggest takeaways from the June Direct was the wave of major third-party titles making their way to Nintendo Switch 2 .

Kingdom Hearts Collection I–III and Kingdom Hearts 4

All three mainline Kingdom Hearts games are coming to Nintendo Switch 2 in a collection on October 8, 2026 . Perhaps even more exciting, Kingdom Hearts 4 was confirmed for the platform, though no release date has been announced yet . The trailer showed Sora in a modern urban setting, mixing the familiar Disney worlds with a surprising new aesthetic .

Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen – October 9, 2026

The critically acclaimed action RPG is coming to Switch 2 with a new expanded region called Norgan to explore .

Stellar Blade – 2026

The stylish action-adventure game, previously exclusive to PS5 and PC, is making its Nintendo Switch 2 debut later in 2026 .
